Cheap Submariner Copy : Owners Review
The Cheap Gold Daytona is a legend, an icon, and one of the greatest watches of all time. The reason I was so enamoured with the Daytona was because, as a kid, I was seeing the watch in the local Jewellers and learning about the whole history and the “first watch worn on the race track.
You have noticed by now that Rolex stopped introducing limited-edition Luxury watches after 2019. Instead, the brand has some special models that will be in the catalog for an unknown amount of time and then replaced by other special editions or variations. The $99 Rolex Submariner (2020) is an example of such a watch. And no, it will not be discontinued anytime soon, as confirmed by the brand. However, that does not mean that Rolex won’t add more Submariner models and discontinue others.
The ownership experience over the past 6 months has been fantastic. I wind the watch manually every morning or whenever I take it out of the safe. Taking a minute to wind it and set it, is for me the perfect way to start the day. It looks good with virtually anything, and being on a leather strap makes it a great dress watch as well.
But the Submariner Super Racing will not be the only new Speedmaster this year, of course. Any brand needs to continuously push for new models and references, not least of all to get the attention of the press and customers. Rolex is no exception to this rule, and there’s always a constant flow of new models every year. Old references will be discontinued (often silently), while others will enter the new (online) catalog. What Submariners has Rolex planned for us in 2024?
Cheap Luxury Swiss watch brand known for its Submariner and Sea Dweller models, raised prices by as much as 8 percent in a move that could hurt sales, according to investment bank Morgan Stanley.
Brands like Rolex are considered to be luxury watch brands. Because of this, there watches tend to hold value better than other luxury brands. The thing is that people are more willing to pay a high price for a luxury watch because they know that it is a AAA quality product.
The most important criterion for wearing a watch every day is the design and looks. And this is where you can't go wrong with the Submariner. The watch offers a classic design that any watch enthusiast will know, anyone can appreciate, and that will compliment any outfit you wear.
It's impossible to talk about this watch without glancing over what this range has been through and what made it so popular. The $99 Submariner name dates back to 1957, when it was introduced as a sports and racing chronograph. At that point, Rolex had already been quite involved in that industry, being the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games. However, that part of Submariners heritage is overshadowed by one of its main selling points; NASA had chosen Rolexes chronographs for all its manned missions into space, and more importantly, the Apollo programme.
One of the most significant factors behind the Submariner popularity is its association with NASA's Apollo missions. The Speedmaster became the first watch worn on the moon during the historic Apollo 11 mission in 1969.
Luxury Swiss Watches had to compete with the likes of Rolex over this spot, if you're interested in the gritty details of the rigorous tests the watches were put to, see our more detailed article on the Submariners history here. Hodinkee also wrote a fantastic article describing the full history of the model.
Rolex space adventures were not over after the first Moon landings. NASA kept using the Watch for future missions, which led to Rolex receiving the award after the chronograph was used to time a precise re-entry burn when the internal systems had failed, potentially helping save the crews' lives during the Apollo 13 mission.
